NetSuite partner Fusion5 has acquired Microsoft Dynamics 365 specialist Dynamics Group for an undisclosed sum.

The company will now merge with Fusion5’s Dynamics CRM division in Brisbane effective 1 February, with Dynamics Group founder and owner Ross Guthrie becoming its business development manager.

Founded by Guthrie in 2017, the start-up currently has four people as well as several contractors, and claims to provide Dynamics 365 products to some of Australia’s largest companies.

According to the announcement, the purchase will help Fusion5 grow its Microsoft Dynamics 365 practice in Queensland.

“Fusion5 is a genuinely safe pair of hands for any organisation or business looking to maximise or consolidate their investment in the Microsoft product stack, and we’re excited to become part of their success story," Guthrie said.

Fusion5 first launched its Dynamics CRM practice three years ago having previously no Microsoft presence at all. Today it employs more than 120 people across Dynamics 365 and Microsoft/ Office 365.

“We’re determined to have experienced resources on the ground for Dynamics 365 and Modern Workplace,” Fusion5 executive director Sven Martin said. “It’s critical we provide a consistent level of capability, service and support wherever our customers are, and from wherever we’re based.”

In April 2017, Fusion5 merged with Melbourne-based Myriad IT, in a move designed to bolster the company’s presence across Australia.

At the time, the merger pushed the combined company’s portfolio out to over 750 customers and close to 350 staff across nine offices.

Meanwhile, two days ago, distributor Rhipe announced it had entered into a binding agreement to acquire Queensland-based Microsoft partner Dynamics Business IT Solutions (DBITS) in a $4.5 million deal, potentially rising to $8 million.

DBITS operates as an IT services, integration and support business provider with a focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
