Mert Mustafa (Check Point Software Technologies)
Mert Mustafa has been appointed as principal of strategic partnerships and growth at Check Point Software Technologies, joining the security vendor following more than 13 years at Telstra.
Effective January 2019, the Melbourne-based channel specialist is tasked with driving alliances in the market through both vendor and partner agreements.
“I am leveraging my knowledge of Telstra, its partner ecosystem - and my exposure to technology and security issues – to grow the opportunity for these organisations to provide a complete security architecture to defend their customers’ networks and mobile devices,” wrote Mustafa, via social media.
“Enterprises increasingly rely on their technology partners to provide a universal protection against malware and other types of security threats.”
Prior to joining Check Point, Mustafa was head of Australian channel sales at Telstra, a position he held since November 2017 with a focus on growing the technology giant’s indirect business locally.
Since joining Telstra in 2005, Mustafa has predominantly held channel management positions in Australia, focusing on specialist, business and enterprise partners.
“In my new role I will work with Telstra and its partners to develop growth plans so they can provide this market leading solution to more and more of their customers,” Mustafa added.
“Check Point Software Technologies offers a complete security architecture to provide this peace of protection.”
The recruitment of Mustafa comes seven months after the security vendor appointed Hamish Soper as channel director across Australia and New Zealand, replacing Craig McGregor in the role.
Soper - who returned to the security specialists after 12 months at AppDynamics - is tasked with expanding and enabling the vendor’s ecosystem of partners on both sides of the Tasman.
