Melbourne-based SAP consultancy Acclimation has upgraded NSW Land Registry Services (LRS) enterprise resource planning (ERP) software as a digital transformation drive.
The privately-owned agency previously used SAP ECC for HR and pay roll, sales and distribution, procurement and asset management, but has migrated to S/4 HANA using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Acclimation, an SAP Gold partner, assisted with the migration of the LRS’ 500 employees from the on-premise ECC over a five-month period last year,
The full conversion included all historical data, data base change, Unicode conversion, selected configurations, interfaces, customisations, for the agency’s land ownership registration systems.
According to Acclimation, the LRS was the first organisation in Australia to complete a full conversion from SAP ECC to S/4HANA and re-platform on the public cloud.
The company claimed the conversion resulted in “minimal downtime” for the LRS, although Michael Brockbank, project manager at Acclimation, admitted there were “challenges along the way”.
Meanwhile, NSW LRS chief information officer Lesa Tobias said the migration enabled the body to speed up lodgement registrations and processing.
“We have seen immediate performance improvements across common transactions such as sales orders, invoicing, payments and leave verifications,” she said. “We have also eliminated many customised reports and are now taking advantage of the reports and insights available from S/4HANA.”
Founded in 2008, Acclimation is one of a number of SAP partners who are leveraging the cloud for the software vendor, including its distributor NextGen and Plaut IT.
The shift follows an effort by SAP to double-down its cloud footprint in Australia by establishing a dedicated channel for the SAP Cloud portfolio in Australia, including SAP Business ByDesign, SAP SuccessFactors and SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
